The site is currently under construction and contains many stormwater management features.  The building was designed utilizing LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) principles.  These features include greatly increased efficiency to reduce the power and water consumption and the building materials' effect on the natural environment.

Pervious pavers decreases runoff.  Water efficient landscaping and drought resistant species reduce irrigation requirements.  Stormwater drains into a filterra and is treated. The county has applied for LEED certification and is awaiting the final review process.

When the building is complete, it will consolidate the community development services under one roof.  This will be the new location for the zoning, building inspection, environmental engineering, planning, fire/safety, transportation, and community revitalization departments.
