As part
of the FY 02 Work Program, the VDOT on-call consultant was requested to prepare
and present recommendations for developing and implementing light-rail in the
region (see report below) as well as a planned
program of work elements, costs and benefits, land use considerations, and other
work activities deemed necessary for a regional light-rail study. Based on the
results of this study, division staff worked with area local governments,
transportation agencies, and others to implement the study recommendations.
