Strawman Draft of Regional Priorities:
In late 2009
and early 2010, the Collaborative met with 10 diverse focus groups to
receive input on important community priorities for the Richmond Region.
Participants were asked to share their opinions on what they value and
what should be the priorities within our community.
The
Collaborative compiled the large variety of suggested actions to
strengthen our Region to create a "Strawman Draft of Regional
Priorities." The following 7 regional priorities represent the most
frequently suggested issues identified by the focus groups.
Overview - Strawman Draft Priorities
Social Stability and Awareness
Optimized Education Excellence
Business and Economic Development
Appealing Entertainment Destination
Leveraged James River
Healthy Community
Regionally Coordinated Transportation
We invite all
who are interested to participate in this exciting initiative to
strengthen the Richmond Region. We seek broad community
feedback on the
Strawman Draft of Regional Priorities.
We are interested in learning which priorities residents support,
which cause concern, and if any additional ideas should be added to our draft. During the summer and fall of this year,
the Collaborative will be engaging the community in an open conversation
about these draft priorities. We invite residents to
participate in public forums and attend meetings to express their opinions about
the Region’s priorities.
What
priorities do you support? Does anything on our list cause you concern?
What should be added?

organization or group is interested in participating in this exciting
effort to shape the future of our Region, or if you would simply like to

The Strawman Draft of Regional Priorities includes 7
priorities, 3 aspirations, and a broad regional goal
presented in a graphic centered around a blank pillar to
represent the incomplete nature of the draft.
